I thank my lucky stars every day that my husband has great health insurance coverage for the whole family, otherwise there isn't much chance I would have worked up the nerve to start freelancing.

My husband is taking classes offerd by his job so he can get his journeyman card. Once that happens we hope he can find a job that has insurance that will cover myself and our son. Right now we have nothing. We can't afford the 450.00 a month that his employer insurance cost. Besides, they won't cover me becasue I do have pre-existing conditions. I've had diabetes and fibromyalgia for years and we just lost our health insurance 3 years ago. We are barely making the bills so can't afford any private insurance yet. We are working on paying them down with this goal in mind in case he can't switch to a company that will cover me. Not having insurance really does suck!

I've been writing on and off for close to ten years. At the beginning of this year, I decided to get serious about my freelancing career. Setting up a separate workspace and schedule (and making myself stick to it) have made a huge difference for me. Thanks for the advice. I look forward to reading more.
